I was lucky. I had someone follow me from a mutual friend I watched on twitch, even though I never streamed. By the time I actually started I already had 3 followers. Same thing with UA-cam. I didn't actually try to start getting followers until way later. I was just making music playlists for myself.

I turned off the viewer count some time ago and it truly helped me mentally. Also on the topic of scheduling: I never hold myself to a specific schedule. I work 2 jobs and know for a fact that I simply don't have the time to stick to streaming at the same exact time the exact same days every week. I just tell people upfront when conversing/networking/etc that I stream when it fits my schedule. EDIT: I know that my situation with the schedule is most definitely not universal, and I think that it's great advice to have a consistent schedule if you're able to!

Those BeQuiet screwdrivers are so great...I use it all the time! It's nice that the company includes it with their coolers.

Turning off viewer count was the best advice ever got. It "forces" me to always be entertaining.

Thank you for this video. You have made some very good points here. I do occasionally stream and have been doing so for about the past 8ish months. I am lucky to have hit affiliate, though I did so mainly by other Twitch friends dropping a follow and having their friends drop me a follow. I started streaming and will continue streaming because I find it entertaining, also my daughter enjoys it as she can use her point redeems to play goofy stuff on my streams. I am definitely one of those who had 0 viewers for the longest time, aside from my daughter and friend, whom I play games with on stream. I have since created a tentative schedule that I have on my channel and actually have a few concurrent viewers now. Aside from the occasional raid, I now will have typically 5 - 10 viewers per stream. I know, small potatoes, but far more than I figured I'd even have. You have some great tutorials and I have been enjoying them and they have def helped me out. Let me give a Twitch !so BWpaco who is a co-worker of mine and who recommended your channel!

I would like a video about the real marketing efforts/investments you can do to grow your stream. Such as: TikTok campaigns, Meta campaigns, paying a partnership with a content creator.
